Default Alarm/ Remote Start Question

Hi all, I have a question. My boyfriend would like to know...

When he is gonna install the alarm (Viper 791xv) for my car, when it comes to the door locks and the trunk release, does he have to install a relay for them to be work with the alarm system?

One other thing that is off topic but kinda on topic, this one the stereo. He want to install a custome fiberglass system in the trunk, but I dont want to change my headunit. Does the stock stereo have RCA outputs, or does he have to get a line converter to run it off the amp?

Thank you for your help in advance.

1) just install whatever comes with the box. You also need a bypass module to get around the immobilizer function if you want autostart

2) No RCA outs in stock radio

You need something else for the trunk release.

The alarm treats the truck as another door. Or at least that's how my alarm (Clifford Matrix 3.5) treats it. Three clicks and both doors and trunk unlocks. The Clifford Matrix 3.5 and Viper 791VX are pretty much the same alarm.

Now if you want the alarm to pop the trunk up when you unlock it, you will need another piece of equipment. But for ust the basics, the alarm and the bypass module is all you need.

I think he is talking about the bypass module for remote start.
You would need something like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Remot...16454031QQrdZ1

right but i thought that you only need transpoders on like american cars. Cause i got a tiburon and i installed like 5 of these alarms for buddies of mine and i didnt have to get that transponder b/s.

Now im not completly sure if she needs this, im not 100% familiar with this car. Can someone get me a defite answer if she needs this or not.

You need that for remote start because the tC has a engine immobilizer.

I'm not sure which relays you are talking about. But when I got my Viper 791xv installed, I didnt need anything else, just what came in the box.
I just bought a module for remote windows, but thats something else.

Well i know in my car (Tiburon) it need relays for the door locks and the hatch to open.

You have no idea if they installed relays for your door locks. I know that extra thing for the windows to go down, but she doesnt have that/ nor need it. Do you think theres a possibilty you can check to see if you do need em (relays that is)?

I just installed my Code Alarm remote start system. No extra relays needed for door locks. The trunk is pointless, since it is unlocked w/ the doors anyway.

I did need a relay to bypass the clutch when remote starting - but if yours is auto, there is no need to do so.

As I said earlier, you don't need a relay for the door and trunk.
You do need a bypass for the engine immobolizer if you want remote start. It only costs $40 or so. You will also need to sacrifice your valet key.
