Default AMP install question for the tC

How do you hook up your pre-amp outputs to the stock HU?
It has no inputs obviously, would I need a line out convertor, if so where/how to install it?
I know a lot about car stereo, but my other car has a BOSE sub in it, I wired my amp directly to that... any help please reply.

You can get a part from any stereo shop or wal mart even that is a line level converter....either that or get an amp with high level inputs...

for the converter, You'll take the speaker wires running to one of your speakers and just splice into them...then on the other side of the converter box is your pre-amp outs..RCA cables....whatever you wanna call them....if I were you....I'd just get a good amp with some high level inputs like rockford or sumpthin.....

hmmm....i don't know.....if it were me I'd probably just go to the fusebox for something that comes on with ignition.....since you're gonna have to run a power wire to the battery anyway....you might as well get something good in the fuse box and run them together at the same time.....get on yahoo messenger....i'm jdm_4g63 on there...

When I was using the high level input for my amp at the time of using my stock head unit, I Just just tapped into the speaker wires in the stock wiring harness. And I believe I used the power ant wire for the remote turnon. The downside to this is, the amp is always on and doesnt turn off even if the head unit is off

Buy a Toyota reverse harness while ur at it. Instead of cutting ir splicing any wires on the harness built into the car. Also you can use the remote lead on the reverse harness to power up the amp.

Theanks for the info. I used high level inputs, wired them to the eft rear speaker, and still want a good place to get the remote turn on... know any good places, more specific. I am not familiar with the scion or toyota harness.... do you mean behind the H.U.?

Thanks.

all you need is to connect to something that's only got power with the key turned on.....like wipers, cig. lighter....moonroof, windows......any of those.......hit it up in the fuse box.....just be sure to get on the correct side of the fuse....otherwise you could have a smoking problem....

Yeah, we did that, tried about 4 different fuses.

I dont know, I think I will check back again, all the wiring, the wiring that is.

Also, did you do high level inputs, and how? which wires, thanks.

Listen, it's not that difficult. Here's a wiring diagram for the xb. Tap into the rear speaker wires on the harness and hook your amp turn on lead to the Radio Switch wire on the harness.

Thanks everyone for the help. I got it to work, had it right the whole time. Turned out to be a badd connectiuon in one of the wires. Also, I was asking about the tC.

Thank you all for your help, I appreciate it. I ended up using heigh level inouts, and tapped the left rear speaker in the "wall"

PLease visit www.mazda7stuff.com/scion.htm for unique, custom, and hard to find parts, thank you.
