Default Amp selection - JL verse Rockford Fosgate; Which is better?

I was at Pacific Audio today to look at amps and am having a hard time deciding. I am putting a twin set of JL 10" sub in a box in the back and am replacing the door subs also with JL.
Any input is welcome. Plus I am getting the street glow done tomorrow.

This can go on and on just like subwoofer debates. Truth is, all high quality name brand amps are good and you will probably be happy with any of them. Most important things to consider as far as i'm concerned are size, price and ACTUAL output power. Good luck.

I use audiobahn, not bad for amp and sub. but i've heard pheonix gold is the best. yes they are pricey. im considering tossing the audiobahn amp though. it deosn't sound as good as other's I have heard before. it's a 800watt mono/stereo 2 chan amp. i use mono briged. maybe it's the sub? it's a 12" audiobahn 400watt 4ohm-8ohm. wired for 8. im using the stock deck/speakers. any suggestions, comments? should I go smaller?

As far as amps go, out of the two brands you were looking at i also sell both.
I like the JL amps a lot the slash series are quite good and dont take up as much room as the new Rockford power amps(damn the are huge). The new punch amps have great power and look good to. So both amp brands will work great for your box.But if you are using JL speakers use their amps it will help with the look of your install

Out of the two listed, I'd go with JL...I would feel pretty safe saying they are one of the better mid-level brands (if not the best). If you need something small that can power your entire system check out the Memphis Belle series. The MC1300D can be had for around $600 on ebay and puts out 74x4 @ 4 ohms RMS on the A/B amp and 1100x1 @ 1 ohm RMS on the D sub amp.

U.S. Amps, Hlabs, MMATS, and Zapco are the best of the best when it comes to amps...

Can't leave the Brax and Helix amps from Germany off the list of ultra high-end.

You guys are KILLING me...... PG SUCKS; as do most of the amps your all talking about....... ESPECIALLY Audiobahn's YUK!!! AND, as far as comparing RF to JL
I personally don't see that being close at all. RF's making amps out of PLASTIC!
JL is the ONLY choice IMO

JL is the only choice? What about memphis or kicker or plenty of other quality amp makers?

You guys are soo funny. You know most of the amps you are mentioning comes from the same factory right? Specs are different, but when it comes to build quality it's all the same.

That applies to speakers also, as there are very few speaker builders in the world. Most car audio companies just OEM home speakers with some minor mods.

You are correct Denny. That is why my list contains none of the "normal" brands.
