Default Antenna signal booster?

I just put in an aftermarket radio, it is a JVC KW-AVX706 and it does not pick up radio stations very well, is there something i can buy to pick up a signal better like an antenna signal booster or something like that.

Please say there is cause i need radio stations.

The wing-nuts here will yell "Use the search". I'll just tell you.

You need to wire up the Power Antenna connection on your new head unit. The xB doesn't have a power antenna but it uses some antenna booster that has to be powered. No power, no radio reception.

When you hooked up your harness, you had a wire left over form the head-unit. Same for the car harness. I think the tech section here has what color the wire was, but it should be the one you didn't hook to anything with the harness.

You could also try giving your antenna a better ground. that might help it.

I found that the antenna has an amplifier so now i am going to find what wires i need to hook up together and hope it works, i think i will hook the power antenna wire from the new radio to the amplifier wire to the antenna.

That is the plan!!!! Usually the wire on the headunit is blue for this. From the Scion electrical diagram it looks like the antenna booster wire in the car is black and red. If you have an aftermarket plug adapter to plug in to the factory harness the wire you need from that is almost certainly blue (should plug in to black and red)...the diagram for the plug adapter will call it power antenna perhaps

Well, I am on my second xb since 2005, the first one was a 2005 and so is the second one. Never replaced the head unit in the first one, but decided to replace with a pioneer bluetooth in my second xb. The radio reception was crap and I mainly used my BT most of the time. Well to sum it up, I do like to listen to the radio and got tired of the crap reception and was about to buy a booster to put in. Got to googlin for a cause and found this thread.....needless say, i went out and hooked up the two blue wires and bam! I now have radio reception.............DUH!!!!!

I will put on my shirt now with I'm an "IDIOT" and wear it with pride!!!!
