Default Anyone else getting weak radio reception on the xB?

I don't know if its just me, but radio stations I usually get pretty strong,
come in somewhat weak in my xB. I get a little bit of static sometimes, and i'm pretty sure its the reception, b/c the same songs don't have that static if i play it from a cd.

Anyone else have any similiar issues on the box?

This is with the stock radio hook-up

Where is the antenna anyways? Is it that black dotted thing on the windshield?

I upgraded my head unit and I do have some bad reception once in a while, depending on the area

Yes, mine's the same way. Stations that I get well in my pick-up or my
wife's car, are weak in my xB.

My experience is that those antennas embedded in glass don't work worth
a damn.

XM here I come..

Jeeze, I just returned from a 5 day jaunt from Orlando to Charlotte to Nashville and back to Orlando. My XM reception was great!!!! ;-)
I did listen to an AM station as I neared Atlanta and then tuned to it again near Macon. The reception was ok, but considering I was 100 miles south I was pleased.

Notin' on the radio worth listening to.

That's why God gave us CD players.

(Oh, and the antenna is in the rear side window. That's not a defroster.)

Mine is the exact same way. I get barely any of our stations well, but needless to say, as listed above, we barely have any stations worth listening to!

XM is my cure. Although, I don't have any problem with reception, AM or FM. Where I live plays a factor. FLAT land. Not much in the way.

Remember if you put in an after market head unit you have to hook up the low voltage wire to your stock anttena wire. The stock anttena is a powered anttena.

Holy cow, the antenna's amplified? How'd you find that out? I thought it was weird that the wire was in the harness I got..... I know the antenna's that wire thing on the back rear side windows...

Not certain what you guys are talking about with a low voltage wire to be connected. My son did install with the Alpine 9833. Are you supposed to hook up a 12v to one of the wires in the harness? If so, how is it done and which wire is it? Thaks for help on this. Any detailed info is appreciated. I'm frustrated with the current reception on a fairly expensive head unit.
