It's an all in one unit...When you want to use the navi you put in the navi dvd...once you have selected your destination or whatever you can remove the dvd and insert a music cd and enjoy. the AVIC-N1 stores i believe 10 miles of data. Now i think if you have the CD Changer, you can just leave the navi disc in the unit and your set!

The unit is tight. I love it..Thanks for the install Denny. Maybe we can do the trim this week when you have time.

Check www.avic-n1.com for more info on the unit. It's the best one out there right now.

Not 100% sure how it works..I just installed it and thats what ive heard. But if you think about it 10miles is quite a bit.. If youre really going though 10 miles of left and rights in unfamiliar territories, its best to leave the DVD in and pay attention to where you are going rather then beat boxing to the music...

Does it stick out like the avh-p7500dvd does? A guy at my shop just installed his in his truck and I just need time to check it out. He says he's installed everything and he loves the performance gauges. I'd assume they're really accurate. Once I sell my current deck and nav unit, I'd like to get this piece.

Most if not all DVD flipout stick out like an sore thumb. You will have to custom flush mount it to make it look like it really belongs.

The display mode can be viewed by 10 miles X 10 miles on screen. It have zoom in and zoom out mode. You must first select the location on the CD provided for navigation. Whether California, Nevada....etc., then you can remove the CD provided. You can insert the cd music that you have been listening to and will return back to it's original location. Hmmmm... Need to check it out in person! hint......
