Default Anyone install an alarm LED without the alarm?

K, i did a search and found nothing so here goes. I don't want to buy an alarm for my tC because if someone wants it that bad, they will find a way. I know of cars stolen with alarms and the club. Considering I have lowjack, I don't want to install an annoying alarm that will go off when a loud car rolls by. Instead, I would like to install a simple LED somewhere visible that will make people think I have an alarm. Has someone here done this? I found this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...765785813&rd=1

It says that it will activate when the engine is turned off or the key removed. I'm wondering if it would be possible to have it activate when the doors lock. Anyone know how to do this or if it's even possible?

Yeah, you could do that, but it's kinda pointless. If you think an actual "annoying" & "loud" alarm system won't keep thieves away from your car, what is a little blinking light gonna do?

I would much rather have a REAL alarm.... Just in case.

You're better off installing an ignition kill switch or something, not just a light.

yeah, but if we agree they are both pointless, wouldn't you rather spend $10 and not $200? if the point of the LED is to alert a would-be theif that your car is alarm-equipped, then both are doing their job. now, if the theif is confident that they can get around the alarm, then they will break into your car regardless. that's why i got the lowjack, cuz they guarantee to return your car in 24hrs or less or they refund the price of the lowjack plus an additional $5,000. And that's on top of what the insurance company will give you. So i'm not worried about the car being taken, I just want to stop those stupid punk kids in my neighborhood that skip the cars with alarms from breaking my windows.

Do you plan to mod your car? If so, say goodbye to those mods once it's stolen and returned by Lowjack.

Even stock, why make it easy for a thief? My alarm, autolock, club, ignition kill switch, and two sets of wheel locks may not stop a pro, but if I'm parked next to you, it makes your car look a whole lot easier.... That's the idea.

Well yea if you put a flashing led it will detur the common thief who wants an easy job just like an alarm... but pros are a different story they will put your car on a lift with the alarm going off... the only thing to really do to stop that is turn your wheels to the side when you park so they cant get it up as easy... but nothing is full proof.
