Default for anyone who knows a LOT about memphis (the audio guys)

ok i just ordered my 15in MOJO sub, it comes in monday.

so, im gonna have a box built. id do it my self but i dont have the resources or time.

heres why i need someone who knows a LOT about memphis.
the dealer i bought from told me i have to have a super strong box (tank like even)
is this true? i mean i know the sub is crazy powerful, but im not gonna be competeing with it, and im only gonna have 3000 watts on it. so do you think 1in MDF would be ok? or is the dealer right, i need a freakishly sturdy box for ths thing? cuz i dont want to pay for something like this if i dont NEED it.

oh itll be ported, 2.5-3.5 cu. ft. space.

Yes, 1 inch is fine. Bracing is key. You want to keep the box walls from flexing.

lol....u know, to be honest i dont know what my goal is...
i guess if i had to pick...id say my goal is to be the loudest in my town...with only one sub. i see kida with two 12s or 15s and they think they are so cool. the ones with 15s are the worst. so im gonna show them that my single 15 is louder than all of them.

im gonna use 1in no doubt...but as far as bracing...any tips or pics?

A brace will assist in keeping thee wallsfrom flexing. This picture shows a sample brace in a .88 cubic foot box for a 12" sub from Obcon. You are going to need something similar.

Also, what amp are you using?

Personally from my experience, with a sub that big and that powerful 1" MDF sounds about right... bracing is also a must... you can also try fiberglassing the inside of the box... get a good layer all around which will also replace the need for silicone to seal the cracks/edges. Personally, I made my own ported box for a 15" Resonant Engineering HC which is 1200wrms but i only used 3/4" MDF... havent had a problem and it sounds great. But, about the Brutus X1500D... its overrated and mine just went out on me... I would probably say find another amp or definitely get some type of warranty deal on it.

it looks like you'd be better off building a box, cause it's gonna need to be heavily braced....

http://images.search.yahoo.com/searc...245&fl=0&x=wrt

this will give you some ideas on bracing....be sure to account for the displacement of the braces in the calculations for volume, ports, etc....

Well it would fit the hole but.... no not really. Check this link and look at the box sizes.
