was curious as what the pay is like and how work environment is. My friend is looking for work 10 years exp and certified any idea what they pay for that level of installer?

 

pay scale for a MECP certified installer at Best Buy depends on the area of the country. In my area you can make anywhere from 12-18 bucks an hour. Your friend will most likely see the lower end of it.

Circuit doesnt care much about MECP anymore. they dont advertise it.

 

Brain is right Circuit City dose not care if you are MECP certified, i work with a certified master installer and he dosent get a single cent more for being certified and niether did I. Your friend may get a dollor or two more becuase of his time and knoledge in the feild, but even that would be pushing it for Circuit to do. I know in Florida best buy installers get paid like a dollar or around there for every certification they get, so they could start at a base amount and make like 4 dollars an hour more. but your friend would be best at a custom shop and not a big retail company.
