Default armrest for manual xB

Seems as though all of the armrests such as Zeta, and Boomerang, interfere with shifting. If anyone here has an armrest in their manual xB, please give us your impressions about it.

I have the dealer installed armrest and it doesn't seem to impead shifting, setting the parking brake is another matter altogether. I just lift it up when I'm setting the brake.

I have the Toyota Dealer bought armrest, I like very much. doesn't bother my shifting.......but when i need to use the E brake i almost always have to raise it to apply the brake.
If the armrest is up when i shift my elbow hits it sometimes.

I like it down while driving anyway.....great item much need, especially on a long ride.

I put in the Boomerang armrest last year. There's no interference with shifting, the handbrake works just fine, and there's plenty of storage space inside.

I had a dealer installed armrest. After about a week, I took it out and sold it to anotehr customer who was waitng around the parts dept at the dealership. A friend of mine designed a pillow out of squared foam rubber and covered it with fabric. Just rests between the seats and can easily and quickly be kocked out, even in an emergency situation. I've yet to (and will probably never) see one that doesn't get in the way of the e brake.

I replaced my Boomerang with the Scion armrest. The Boomerang didn't interfere with shifting at all, but was a little hard to work the e-brake with. I've had no problems with the Scion armrest and simply raise it to have the most access to the e-brake (many times I just reach around it though).

Both worked reasonably well, I just never used the Boomerang storage and liked the look of the Scion one better.

Anybody want to buy a slightly used Boomerang armrest??

Well since I'm not the tallest person in the world, looks like the boomerang, or the OEM armrest.

Just got the boomerang for X-mas and love it. As far as the height it is the same height as the armrest on the door.

didnt realize tranny's effected armrests...

If it was in the way for shifting a manual, it would be in the way of shifting an auto.

If you feel your boomerang is too short you can always lean your seat back a little. Not only is it more comfortable but it gives you that gangsta lean and makes your boomerang not so short.

Amen to that! If you're not leaning then why are you driving? It's all about the gangsta lean!

I have a JDM armrest from Japan. It sits a bit lower than the others, but it doesn't interfere w/ shifting, just access to the e-brake.

I also have the OEM armrest, it doesnt hurt shifting, i actually like it because i can rect my arm while shifting where as beforei did a hovering arm deal...which made traffic jams hell.
