Default ATTN: Randode - Cold Cathode Question

ATTN RANDODE

I’ve some questions about the “Cold Cathode Interior Lighting” you’ve got on your site. I’m totally new at this sorta thing, so please forgive any stupid questions!

Cold Cathode: How long do these last? Are they like the LED’s that Toyota/Scion sells for way too much money?

How easy/hard to install? Do they route to one of the three empty on/off switch panels I have on the dash below the radio?

Durable? If they are accidentally kicked or nudged, would they break easily, or are they more or less resilient against the occasional oops?

Can the colors be mixed? (Such as, for example, Purple for front seats, blue for rear?)

Thanks for the info and anything else you’d like to tell me. (or anyone else reading here).

yes, they are similar, actually much brighter.

Very easy to install, they can route to wherever you need.

Pretty durable, i wouldn't be kicking them or anything, they're more likely to snap the light filament thing inside than crack the actually casing. The way that Randy has them routed they'd be pretty hard to kick unless you were trying.

You can do whatever you want with them.

Hey, allright! Thanks for the replys.
What do you think of Purple Front, Blue Rear? Silver XB. I'm also thinking of adding an enhanced intake whenever I can afford it... as I understand it, they give a better boost to power and might increase fuel economy. Leastways, that is what the dude I met with the RS1 Manual told me. ;)

Thanks again! I might order Friday, Randodester.

Hey, riddle me this. Why do people LOVE to lower this car so much? It's like what, 6 inches from the ground? I did that here in Charlotte, I'd not have a suspension for very long. 1st pothole or RR Track would KILL me.
BTW: Trogdor RULES.

With a little bit of know how you can do your entire car for under $30. Check these out: http://www.svc.com/v12inch2ccflkits.html All you have to do is find a live wire and hook them in.

LED's project in, at most, 115-120 degrees around the area the LED is pointing to. Cold Cathodes are identical to neons except they are much thinner, much easier to shatter, and about 6 times as bright. They last 30,000 hours give or take installation location.

Extremely easy to install. PM me, and I can guide you through the ENTIRE wiring and mount install.

If you press down on the tube as it sits on, say, a table, it will shatter it. If you want to save your ___, just in case, cover it in a lexan tube. I had one set (two tubes) above my pedals, and what seemed like every other shift, I would nudge the tube. It's still going strong.

Hell, if you get your kits from SVC (because they have plugs in and out of the inverter), you can run white and RGB into the same inverter!

Ask if you have any more questions.

I've only had one break on me, but it was totally my fault.

Also, you can have any color you want if you get the white ones and paint them. (hint, hint, hot lava owners)

So I guess using these as undercar lighting is pretty much out of the question?

Can you really paint them? If so, what kind of paint. Could I just use body paint from my bodyshop?

Thanks.

I used krylon stained glass paint to make mine redder. It works really well and now they're red like LED tubes.
