Audio first time build

8 Attachment(s)
So thx to the forums and great people I got from a point where I had no clue at all about car audio half a year ago, to the point where I'm all finished with my first built ever. I'm pretty happy that I did all the work myself, I can be sure there were no shortcuts taken and I know what's what. It took me around 6-7hrs for damplifing front doors, rear hatch and a hatch area, then around 6 day(30hrs all together) to do everything, from wiring, custom baffles, watersealer, just a lot of stuff.

Pioneer Prs880
Sundown 100.4
Sundown 125.2
Image Dynamics CTX65CS
Image Dynamics CTX6
Image Dynamics ID 8''
Knukonceptz wiring, rca's, distro block
Secondskin damplifier lite, overkill, speaker tweaker

So here's few pics....

Total mess, the beginning of a nightmare :)

Attachment 81700

Good job on the install. I know what a pain it is to gut and deaden like that. Excellent job on the doors and speaker rings. I've got multiple layers throughout my box as well. The only recommendation that I can think of would be to allow for some ventilation for the amps. Not sure how the install looks without the seats in, but you may want to clean up the wiring after the fact just in case.

What are the specs on your box when you get it?

ToyoXrsPl 07-11-2010 02:30 AM

Oh, wiring is clean, everything is nice, zip tied, if you would take the seats off and panelling you would think it's oem :) First pic is only testing stage, too se if everything is working.

Ventilation part, I'm still iffy if it will not get too hot there, however I talk to Jacob(owner of Sundown) and others running same amps and supposedly they don't get that hot, will monitor the temps, if something I'll add a fan per amp.

Box will be for 2 ID8'' ported, tuned to 36hz

That will be a good box for those ID8s... I'm running 2 8W7s with similar spec. Is that single chamber or dual chamber faced transmission line port?

not sure what he designed, I'll know once i pick it up :D
damn, 8w7's that's crazy :) I heard w6 is very good, but w7 is overkill :D

First, GREAT choice of equipment!

Looks very nice, should sound great! You are running the 880 thru the passives...eventually you will get the bug to go active!

kudos for a killer system!

Yeah, sound quality is very high in my book. So much that my comp audio tracks on the carputer are ogg-lossless or FLAC (ogg preferred). I'm debating about changing the box up though... there's just no space for storage in the back and I really don't want a roofrack. Nevertheless... when you get the box, post it up.
