Audio in, other options?
sooo... I was wondering, since I don't really care about replacing my head unit... is the only way to have an audio in jack to use the PIE adaptor thing? Is there no... cheaper alternative? I don;t have nor will I plan to get sat radio... is there a way I can route imputs there? I didn't want to take apart everything just to take a look.. just wondering if it can be done or am i pretty much stuck with an FM modulator (or saving up for the pie adaptor).

i was using an fm modulator...my skyfi2 came with a built in one...i couldn't even listen to the skyfi for the week that i had it like that. i tried a wired fm modulator...wow, that sucked.
i bit the bullet and put up the money for the PIE...i would suggest it highly. it is terrific...awesome quality, as good as a cd. it was a snap to install it...it took me longer to ziptie it to a wire bundle that it did to install it, theres no splicing or running power wires. it also has an adapter on it so you can add a cd changer if you want to down the road.
i love the pie, i can hook up my skyfi2, my friend can bring his ipod...you can hook up anything with a headphone jack when you get an rca to headphone cord, like $5 from radiosack.
just set aside a little money each week and get it
