Default AVN5500 Will it fit

I want to try and put the AVN550 in my 05 xb On crutchfield.com it says that it wont fit but it looks to me like it will fit perfectly. Is crutchfield wrong. Does it fit. I would measure but my xb is at the dealer waiting for a free change of oil. What modification would be needed to make it fit?

The AVN550 is the same thing as the AVN5495, but minus the hard disk drive and they both are double-dins so it should fit. Metra makes 2 side pieces that go on the side of the unit to fill the gaps. Shouldnt be any real big issues.

i have avn 5495 in my box

no modification need perfect fit.
5500 is structurly sa as 5495. so it fits perfectly.
