Default Bazooka Subwoofer Install Question

I'm not a stereo guy, so try to keep the flames to a minimum. I've installed just about everything else as a side job before.

Question is, I'm considering getting two Bazooka subs, and mounting them on the left and right sidewall in my trunk.

1. How difficult are they to wire?
2. What quality of sound should I expect from these?

I'm not looking for a block party in my trunk, just a little extra 'punch' to my bass.

Any better suggestions?

are you talking 2 factory bazooka subs?!?!?!?!?! if so that'll be 900 bucks!!!!!!!! you could get a much better system for 900 than 2 factory bass subs......however.....if you're looking at aftermarket....then maybe you're not insane.....I've never personally hooked them up but 2 of them would give you a little extra sumthin sumthin back there....if I were you tho....I'd just get like a JL 10w0 and about 200 watts to it in a sealed box....you could prolly get that and have it installed for like 300....it's all in what you're looking for......matter of fact....i have a 10" kenwood and a "Total"(yes that's the brand) 320 watt amp that was in my tC untill I went to my 2 JL 12w3's and Fosgate 500....that amp and sub hit pretty good for what they were....But back to your question....

1) If it hooks up like any other amped sub...it's not that difficult but if you don't know what you're doing..have a buddy who does know help you....
2) You're not going to get great sound quality but you prolly won't be able to tell that it's bazookas....it'll prolly satisfy you along with many other Scion owners that went this route......any other Q's...PM me..

The factory setup may have wires allready run back there, I'm not sure. But if you're instaling your own amp all you need to do is
1) run a fused power wired from the battery to the trunk. The hardest part of this is finding a safe place to pass the wire through the firewall.
2) Run a "turn-on" wire that is hot only when the key is at acc . You can find that with an open slot at the fuse box.
3) Make a short ground wire going to the chasis.
4) get some high level inputs from the speakers in the back. most amps have hook-up for this. but some may require you get a line level converter.

The tC factory sub enclosure is molded to fit in the right quarter it will not fit the left side . The wires are not run from the factory you will have to run them . Do a search for the sub there are some installs shown here on Scionlife that do a good job showing what is involved .

The factory enclosure is available for much less online. Obviously it would not fit into the other side of the trunk.

However, to clarify, I was talking about the Bazooka tubes.

well....it would give you a little extra....but i think those things distort WAY to easily......but it's ok....most people crank their stereo's untill it distorts and sounds like ____ then when I'm like "dude..turn that down...way too much distortion" they're like "what's that"....so....whatever...

bazooka=crap
but I dont know if anyone in this topic has ever heard a sub that goes abouve 500w with out poping it. Me The smallest sub I use is a 1200w orion 10" with a 900w amp(thats true power not peak power) and it has awsome SQ your bazooka sub would handle like 200w max after that it would bottom out or pop. Look use ebay your can get $500 subs for like $200 and $1000 amps for like $300 and thoughs are good sounding subs.
