Both of your questions can be found by using the search. Use the red search button near the bottom of the advertisement on top of the page. dont use the "type search here" thing. Also select "search for all terms" for a better result

Now, to ANSWER your question, or at least half of it...

The sub is decent. It is BY FAR not the best sub you could put in your car and if you know what you're doing re: install and/or have a connection, you can possibly get the same or better for same price or less. HOWEVER- If you want a sub, are clueless about installing one, don't have many connections, and most importantly NEED YOUR TRUNK SPACE, it does a good job. (I have one) If you haven't seen how it fits in the tC link to the cardomain site in my sig and you can see a couple pics that show. it.

does it have a built in amp?
can you swap out the speaker itself for a different brand?

i need the truck space, so i've been considering this for a while.

not too sure. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to a/v stuff.

I don't see why it COULDN'T, but best to find out from someone else first!

The dealer sub contains an amp inside. $400.00 installed at the dealer is kind of expensive. You could get one a lot cheaper and install it your self.

Not difficult to install at all. TRDSparks.com has it for like $265 or so... would be better off picking it up from them and then getting your dealer to print out install instructions for you (very easy).

Moved to ICE anyways...

to everyone thinking bout actaully buy this sad excuse for a woofer...

it sucks, for 400 bucks, u can prolly get a semi good amp and a higher watt woofer, and do a DIY box. and buy a few gauge wires, and ask a friend who knows how to install it or goto a place that can do it. and i guarentee it'll sound better than the bazooka bass.

but if you don't really care bout how sounds are, and can't tell the difference, then i guess it's a good choice.
