Default bazooka tubes..... good?

ok so i dont want a huge elaborate subwoofer/amp setup. i want to keep it as simple and as removable as possible. so naturally i am considering a bazooka tube. i know they have been around for years but i have never actually heard or dealt with them.

how good a quality of a product is it? how do they sound?

im looking at getting either a powered 8" or 10".

do they provide a decent amt of bass? can they handle loud music as opposed to a subwoofer of the same size that has a box built for it and a seperate amp?

just need some info.....

feel free to post pix of yours if you have it in your xb

i'm not sure of the model number, but yeah it is the 8" one. it mounts to the floor in the back with 2 brackets so it doesnt roll around.

I had the powered 8" for a while. It had these brackets which were mounted to the cargo cover, then the tube attached to those. You could easily remove the tube, but those brackets were bolted to the cover.

It puts out a decent amount of bass, but it doesn't go very low (bassy, low Hz), and there is a very fine line of where it will distort. Mine distorted too often so I upgraded to the Audioformz fiberglass box which fits in the space of the rightside cubby behind the rear seats. I very highly recommend that setup.

Don't know the quality of sound out of the 10" Bazooka tube as I literally put it in the car for a minute as it was way to big. Same with the premade boxes, so I'm buildin my own 10" setup since no one makes squat for the xA. U have the box, they make abunch of stuff for it. There's an underfloor enclosure with a 10" sub that goes under the right side floor in the trunk area. Also there's an underseat sub-enclosure as well, both save space and sound good.
