Bazooka Tubes - How much does your bump
I am looking to add some bump to my xB and I am thinking with the stock deck being a Pioneer (I love PIoneer products, always had good luck with them) and it having MP3 playback I do not need much more.
My question is I have always owned seperate subs and amps so how do these little 10/8/6.5 Bazooka powered subs sound? I would like to keep as much space in the back as I can and I am thinking one of these may be my best bet if they sound ok and they can be hooked up to a stock radio.
Any feedback is appreciated thanks.
Also when I say I want some 'bump' I mean I want to see a little rattle in my rear view, my buddy bought an expedition with a factory single 'sub' in the back and i can't hear it at all honestly.

I have two tens and a 1000 watt amp. I am using the stock head unit still, you just need a high low convertor. I have not heard the bazooka tube personally, but I have never been a big fan of them.
I would NOT recommend buying it from your dealer. The markup is WAY too much. The option is like $400 and you could just go out and get your own for like $250 (if not cheaper) and pay someone to install it for maybe $50. I've heard the tubes in peoples cars and they're not bad. I've also heard the Infinity sub/amp combo and they're MUCH better. I've seen those on e-bay for like $200 and they pump WAY better than the bazooka's. Definately look into that.
dont get the bazooka - i had it in my ride for 3 months and then swapped it out (along with the factory head, and all the speakers up front, and a 12" in the back)
the bazooka is muddy, distorted and don't bump that well at all imho

well if your talking about he bass tube it flat out horrible it only sounds exceptable in cars w/trunks not hatchbacks open open cabin air spaces....
If you want to "Bump" of your stck deck get a line converter and hook it up to a rear channel then run your rcas back to a 500.1 amp then hook up a punch hx2 in ported enclosure now thats bump and for sound quality that infity bass thingy isnt that bad ive heard it before it pretty powerful.

Anyone running one of these?
I hear these things thump but looking at it the box is tiny as anything but would leave me a good amount of room for everything else.
Also what would be the cheapest amp I could go with, I know I could pickup a cheap 1000wt [flamsuit]Pyramid[/flamesuit] somewhere that would probably do the job but I would rather get something with a bit better name, maybe like a 300wt MTX?
Also what is this thing I need to get RCA preouts on my stock radio? I have always switched the stock deck out right away but this deck does not seem too bad so I am gonna stick it out and change it later if I don't like it.

I installed an 8" Bazooka with 50W internal amplifier ($99 @ Circuit City or Pep Boys) firing toward the driver's side with about 4" of air space. I used a Bazooka wiring harness for generic Toyota ($40) but I'm told the Scion-specific harness runs ~ $65 through dealerships. I'd go with the dealer one as the connectors are ever so slightly different.
Mine thumps enough to reinforce the bass from the other speakers and rattle the rear wiper and license plate. If you're looking for more you'll prolly be disappointed.

The thing you need is called a high low convertor you splice it into the speaker wires and it has plugs for rca's you can probably get one at fry's for about 15 bucks im running one on my car and have not had any problems with it.
