Usually its a 15 Wire Harness Consisting of 4 sets of 2 Speaker Wires (+ & - ) A Positive, a memory, a dimmer, an illumination, a ground and a Antenna/Remote (Amp) Turn on. The Remote Turn on wire (Blue) is connected to the usually blue wire included with an Amp Wiring Kit.

Metra Part Number 70-1761
For the Toyota, it has two small plugs.

it is used when you swap out your radio for an after market one.
this allows you to keep all the factory wires intact (in case you want to put it back to stock for lease turn it or resale)

this wire harness will get spliced with the new radio harness then everything just plugs right in no hassles....

you can buy a regular harness (70-1761) and reverse harness (71-1761) from Best Buy and wire a line out converter in parallel with it to hook your RCAs to so youdont have to cut factory wiring.

I just used the snap-in metra ones. It was easy, but a little expensive.
