Default Bluetooth microphone placement

Well, since my car was broken into, I ordered a new headunit.
It's got integrated bluetooth.

Has anyone mounted the mic in a gen 1? Where did you put it?

I was thinking either the top of the A-pillar, along the headliner at the rearview mirror or on top of the steering column.

Anyone have a better idea?

I have the bluetooth option with the navagation for my Alpine W205 and I ran the cable up the Apillar across the front of the headliner and placed the microphone on the bottom left corner of the rear view mirror, I have replaced my rear view mirrow with a windshield mounted one with map lights from a Pontiac so it has a cable run molding on it to hide the wiring.
Works for me.

I put mine behind the steering wheel. The mic sits right in front of me and most times people don't realize I'm in the car when I'm talking.
