Default A/C Noise

So i have a noise behind my glove box in my 06 xB. Im guessing it is the blower motor/fan as it changes with the AC speed setting. It sounds like a card hitting a fan and its pretty annoying. Ive tried searching but the only thing i came up with was people going to the dealer for a new blower motor, I would rather replace this on my own. Any tips on taking the AC system apart? I have the expanded component PDF file but its a little confusing on how it all goes together.

Thanks.

First thing I'd do is pop off the glove box and open the filter case. It's a tray with a rectangular cover. Pull the cover toward the passenger seat. Do you have a cabin filter in there? Might get one or make one (There's a thread on making one).

Then I'd get a vac with a thin tool and see if you could suck or blow the obstruction out of the fan. The fan will be just below the filter tray.

If you're luck is good, that might fix it.

Cheers,
MD
