I have used many 4 channel amps in my dayz....

I usually connect the front channels to my front stage, let the stereo run the rears for fill and put the last two channels of the amp on the subs.

I take it your amp has -

Built-In High Pass and Subwoofer Crossovers?

2/4 Input Switch?

As most do...

Get a Line Converter for 2 channels and out it on the front speaker leads of your factory deck if that's what your using.

That will provide the amp with a signal.

Setup like that should work very well....

I have been in the car audio business for ten years now and I still haven't figured out the obsession of amping only the rear speakers. What I do know is it could have come fron the muscle car scene where they installed 6x9's in the rear deck and that was all there is. Our tC uses a 6 channel amp with the 4 channels Bi-amped to the front components and the sub channels bridged to an 8" sub. Or is that too complicated for anyone? We don't even use the rear speakers. The car is so loud and clear, they are not needed. Why amp the rear speakers when you don't sit back there when your driving? Do you watch a concert with your back to the stage? These are the questions I ask my customers every time I hear that.

i can tell you the reason i amp my front and back, i like to hear the music come at me from all angles... especially when the music goes all around for some weird effect, cant describe it to well, but anyways, thats mine... but i do have a question for someone out there that has the professional experience of the installations of amps and subs, what channel is best to run subs from, front or rear? reason i ask is that i have always used the rear channel for subs, but my friend just installed the 8" bazooka tube that comes from the scion dealership and it is connected to his front channel... is there any benefit in using one over the other???

I would amp the fronts and the subs and let your deck power the rest to fill it out....

If you really think you need to boost your highs and mids then do it the right way. Bridge the 4 channel and thump the subs then get a seperate low imput amp and boost the highs and mids. Lot cleaner look and you can adjust the m/h seperate from the subs.
