Default Can you hook up subs to the Scion headunit?

Me and my friend took my head unit out yesturday, and he says theres no outputs for the subs. Im wondering is there some adapter so I can put subs in there or wire it somehow or am I going to have to buy a new headunit?

Also anyone with a sirius satalite radio, where did you stick it?

okay here it goes even though im electrically a sped...

you can do subs with the stock headunit. your friend is right though, there are no hook ups. you have to splice it in, or get a simple RCA converter off ebay or something like that nature, where you can plug it in and not have to worry about cutting your wires. personally i would just get a new headunit but thats me i guess.

as for sirius, somewhere in the back i think. lol. sorry i cant help on that

I hope you are using an amplifier and not just trying to hook up subs to stock headunit amp. Look for a little box called "line converter" either on e-bay or your local audio store. Pretty much what sexy has told you.

Default think about it this way

Think about it this way.. they have a way to hook up their extra sub option... so there's definitely an easy way.

You could also just get an amp with high level inputs(so the input to the amp is speaker wire instead of RCA's), get a remote turn on from an ign. source, and run power wire like normal....would be easier....

edit: you wouldn't even have to take your dash apart.....
