why the 30 amp inline fuse? especially where you have it... what function would that serve?

oh and on the xb.. i think all the empty fuse locations in the fuse relay box have power. Though only one has always-on power (if my memory is correct its on the bottom row, second one from the left).

Its still easier to use the add-a-circuit thing.. but i favored plugging it into an empty slot over an already occupied one.

you'd have to cut the switch off of the new cathodes, splice the wire that goes from your switch to your first set of cathodes, and attach the red wire from the new ones

one more question...sorry for stealin the thread
i attempted to hook up some cathodes last weekend and i had to extend the wire between the inverter and the light and when i hooked it up that light wouldnt fully light up, only the ends would but not the middle...is there something that i have to stick in there to give it a little extra power that it is losing in the extension? the connections were good, i soldered them and made a good connection...the only thing i can think of is i used much heavier wire, would it work if i just cut down to the same size wire?

The Randode Cathodes connect right to an open spot on the fuse panel located just under the steering wheel to the left. The circuit is always on and by using the switch provided, can be turned off and on whether or not the car is running and is not dependant on the headlights or any thing else.

Thanks....I see you have them....
1. Are the worth the $100
2. Are they TOO bright
3. Have any pics
4. How do they look with your led conversion because i am thinking of doing the same thing with blue for my needles and white for the center console????

Thanks for your input

Cold Cathode lights work at a high voltage and low amperage, because of this the distance it is from the power inverter matters. The closer it is, the less voltage is lost in the wires between the inverter and the tube, hence greater illumination; the farther it is from the inverter, the more voltage is lost and the light gets dimmer. The wires that come on a CCFL tube are the ideal distance from the inverter, and are typically NOT copper wire. The best thing to do would be to run 12V to another power inverter near enough to where you want to mount your CCFL tube.

If you need more tubes or inverters I recommend www.xoxide.com great prices and good people in my experiences.

To answer you....
1. Absolutely, the kit is very easy to install and doesn't require any cutting of factory wiring.
2. I would say the light output is just right and looks great. They are brighter than the ones from the dealer.
3. I need to post pics. Due to the crappy weather, my interior's a little dirty but as soon it's clean, I'll post 'em.
4. The color match is perfect and looks absolutely awesome. You'll be very pleased.

jmiller20874 Thanks for the input....i guess my last question would be if they are visible..thats the why i wanted to see pics because have seen a few and usually you can see the tubes!!!

Do the tubes get hot??? Was thinking of maybe creating a small piece, the size of the tube, of hanging felt or dark carpet material block it from the front??? What do you think??

The way I mounted my tubes, you can not see them unless you look way under my dash. There are two convenient places under both sides of the dash where you can zip tie the tubes (you'd almost think it was made for them). For under the seats, there are two straps near the back of the seat that you can use to mount the tubes there and you can't see them either. No they do not get hot so don't worry about the heat.
