not true, it depends on the cd....i have some burned cd's that were burned with the correct track titles and they show up, and i have some store bought cd's that don't...so really, it all depends on the cd. if the cd you're trying is gonna do it, you'll find out by pressing the text button. once for the album, twice for the track, then a third time to get back to the original screen.
This is starting to drive me insane. Kinda glad someone else asked....Anyway, if a CD is burned in MP3 format, then the track title/artist info will display? I was playing around on my iTunes last night trying to get it to work, but the help section said to re-import files in MP3 format. Wish I knew how to just change them over. Sorry, a little off topic there. Just trying to figure out the whole CD text process....

The songs have to be named in Windows. There's software that does it for you or you can right click on the MP3 on click the "Summary" tab then click advanced then you will see where to put all the text. You should see somethinglike this:

But there is software out there that makes it easier, try searching on Download.com.
You can also set your view to details in windows explorer to see if they have already been named or not like in the pic.

Sadly, only one CD in my collection is formatted :? I haven't yet tried burn anything in mp3 format, but am going to. Will see if that works. Unfortunately, I have a mac, so that windows info is just teasing me
Have used download.com before. but if anyone can recommend a good program for this kinda thing for mac OSX that would be lovely

I've got musicmatch, perhaps I'll try using that. Hopefully the one I have will work with mac....May just have to suck it up and head over to the parents house and spend some quality time with their pc.

You can change your apple AAC files to mp3 in itunes, just highlight the tracks you want to change over, right click, and select "convert to mp3." You're going to want to use a different burning program though, try Easy CD creator in "MP3 CD" mode.

Remember first to go into iTunes Preferences and under Burning choose "MP3 CD." Otherwise it will burn an audio CD which you don't want.
