Default Clifford Intelliguard 850 Installation

My tC needs an alarm and with how bad I hear the factory alarm sucks, I'm thinking about picking up one of these. The price seems more than reasonable, especially compared to what Scion's asking for the factory piece. So anyway, on to my question:

I'm thinking about installing this myself. I have a lot of electircal knowledge and have installed keyless entry systems, guages, and some other miscellaneous gadgets in my friends' cars. Have any of you guys/gals done this install before? How difficult is it to do? Or should I just go ahead and pay someone to do it professionally. If I do take the installation route, how much do you think it would be to have it installed?

Thanks for the input

PM Scionspecialties. His name is Bill. He might be able to help you. I just got an alarm from him and he helped me with all my problems installing it. He was a GREAT help. He might be able to point you in the right directions.

A tc isnt that hard to install in becuase it doesnt have a transponder (or does it)

Are you just installing the alarm? Or Keyless as well and Remote Start as well?

Alarms are nothing at all

Keyless a little more difficult

Remotestarts are sometimes a pain in the ___.

I would say if you feel you won't have any problems doin a stealth install, go for it. Doing the actual wiring is not hard with all the wiring diagrams around these days. (not all very good) But being able to tap into wires in places you cannot see, hiding wires and making it a safe install isn't that easy. Unfortunately it is also hard to find someone professionally that can do this as well. Time and money drive many shops to do things as fast as they can. So I basically think that you could probably do it. Just make sure everything is hard to get to. This might mean having to take extra time to get to wires in different place but it will make you alarm more secure, not just a brain sitting under the dash.

I'm assuming the whole module replaces the current keyless entry system. At least it seems that way.

Here's the features chart:
