Haven't had a chance to play with the 15s yet. I'm sure they would work very well at the crook of the back seats though (measure 31" across to be sure). I'm getting ready to desheild a 4" cathode to put behind the A/C consoles.

Be super carefull with the cc tubes once you take them out of the tube, they can break if you just breathe on them wrong...trust me...I broke two over the weekend.

i've taken about 6 of them apart so far for different projects, i found the best way so far was to heat gun the end of the platic and stretch it out. next, once you have about a half inch or so of slack, take a pair of diag cutters and cut the plastic, then you hit the end of the tbe with th eheat gun again, blowing the plastic out. you can slide the cathode out the open end after that. if you're like me, you'll need to pop the pins out of the plastic end for the transformer, so go ahead and do that to slide the wires through as well. Dont worry, when you put the wires back into the plastic clip, it does not matter what side you put each wire in.

For protecting the tube, i went to the local walmart and picked up some .25 inch air line hose for an aquarium. i cut off about 2 inches and heates that up to bend it straight (slid the tubing onto a thin screwdriver) and let it cool down. after the tubing straightens out, i slid the raw cathode into the tubing and glued the cathode in place.

hope this helps out a bit!

What he said....I didn't heat up the tubing and that was what caused mine to break. Just the natural bend of the plastic (slight though it may be) was enough to break the cc's. You don't want to have that happen inside your ride. it's a mess.

There's a much easier way to disassemble a cathode! Boil some water and dunk the end with the wire coming out in the water for 30 seconds and the hot-melt glue used to secure the tube will melt and the bulb will easily slide out. The tube is also left intact and the hole can be opened up to the tubes inside diameter and 2 bulbs can be slid into one tube if you want.

Hey man,

I installed the 12" in all four footwells,

it's a bit hard finding a good spot to stick the passenger side, but once you find to flat surfaces, it's a piece of cake.

I'm sure the 15" tubes are cool and all, but the 12's put out more than enough light for me.

Ciao.

FYI - I have not seen it mentioned yet, so just to let everyone know, simply take out your glovebox when installing the 'thodes...makes it VERY easy.

I haven't tried the 15"s which I think it's too long. I've used 12"s and 4" which were easier to work with.

Here's where I used the 4".

I finally got my inverter to work and now I've got four 12 inch blues in my engine bay. I also have a _____in' home made ghetto switch....

And last but not least, my home made super duper ghetto switch.
