Default Complete system shut down at 80mph

I have had my box for almost two years woth no problems at all I am coming up on 30k, I took a road trip up to Seattle and on the way back it was raining, I have a AEM intake and just cleaned the filter before the trip. The rain was coming down pretty hard and I was running about 85-90 when my whole electrical system shut down everything went dead for a second or two then came right back online. I was like what the hell. The rest of the 12 hour drive back to the bay area was pretty smooth kept her at about 110 most the way. Then last night as I am running 80 or so with a perfectly clear night she did it again, shut down and then came back to life after a second. It’s a little freaky to say the least doing that speed to lose your head lights and gauges. I have a ground wire kit and after market taillights and side markers but I haven’t touched the stock wiring for anything. I am completely lost on why she keeps doing this. If you have any experience with this or have had it happen to you please reply its killing me. The other mods I have are the cup holders and light bars under the seat but that was a factory installation.

Thanks

Complete shut-down right? Sounds like a wire is loose coming off of the battery. It deosn't sound like anything you added would be the cause. I'd double check the fuses, and the wiring and terminals at the battery.

I would check the battery connections as well. The ground wire kit, was that one you installed on your own? DIY? It sounds like a grounding problem...

Checked the battery terminal all tight and all connections from the ground wire kit are tight as well, Ill check the fuses right now and see if anything is loose or blown.

Why is that nuts? I have had my little toaster at 130 coming down the grapevine. She likes it.

thats what I was thinking. That it wasnt anything I had done as the mods that I do have I have had on a long time. She got all done up right out the gate. I was just checking to see if anyone else might have known that fear.

The xB was not designed for those kinds of speeds. Just because it will go that fast doesn't mean it should. Trust me, I worked on an ambulance full-time as an E.M.T. for six years. I've seen (many times) what can happen. If you blow a tire or someone cuts you off at that speed, they'll be picking you up in ziplock baggies.

130 mph? is that down hill with a tailwind? I didn't think the box could do that. here in Michigan the roads would have the box in pieces before that speed.

I push mine too, but I don't think you can get to 130, I can only do that going down into the tunnels

Its a 8 percent down grade for like 1o miles and it was nigth so it was pretty still, just me and my friends bmw leading I was drafting him so its like a tail wind. On the way back from seattle a prelude with a v-tec was leading and I was again drafting him coming down the shasta area at like a buck 20. I agree the box by its self can barely get to those speeds but with a little help with the front drag she will do it. The rpms will be maxed but thats why I got a warranty. Cali has some pretty smooth highways compared to a lot of places I have been in my box. I have more problems with blow offs from big rigs then road conditions.

just make sure to take out all non-dealer installed aftermarket crap before you take it in for them to find the short.

I would remove the ground wire kit and drive around for about a week or two to see if it is the kit or not. Which ground wire kit did you do? the DIY one on here or a pre-made one?

Driving more than 80mph is stupid and unsafe, I don't care how good you are at driving.
