Component speakers install with amp
Hi All!
I want to install components speakers and a amp for the xb. The question is how do I wire this project? I have an aftermarket HU with all the RCA outs but I am unsure of how to wire it all up with an amp. Also can the stock door wire be used for this install since the amp has only 100 watts per channel. Any help or maybe a simple diagrahm would be appreciated.
Thx
John

I would definitely put in new speaker wire if you're going with amped components... You need to wire up the power, ground, remote, and RCA's first off... I'm assuming you know how to do that...
from the amp, you should have 2 channels of + and -... take left +and- and run it to the left x-over box... from there, run a +and- from woofer output to the mid and +and- from tweeter output to the tweeter... repeat for right side...

^^ New wire...if you ever want to remove the equipment, you can return to stock ez with no cut wires or jacked harnesses.
Run power/ground down one side of car, signal down the other. Keep grounds short and get a good connection. This the source of *most* noise issues.

Thanks you guys for the replies. I pretty much get that but with the HU and the amp do I just run the RCA's from the HU to the amp and the speaker wires go from the amp to the speakers, tweeters and x-overs and not to the HU. I was kind of confused about that. Anyone out there have a simple diagrahm I might use?

If you have one full range amp:HU>full range RCAs to amp>speaker wires from amp to x-overs>speaker wires from x-overs to mids/tweets. X2=L/R channels, of course.
If you have two amps or just a sub amp then sub is:HU>sub out RCA(s) to amp>speaker wires from amp to sub.
