Imo Compustar isn't very installer and user friendly. I've installed a couple of them and didn't like them at all. even the people who have the alarms don't like it. Dei (Viper) is probably the most user/installer friendly. I like the Audiovox/Prestige alarms. they have alot of features and are really good.

There are a few here that have compustar and love it.. I personally recommend the Viper 791xv however they are both comparable to each other and compustar is a fairly good brand..

Most installers will tell you that compustar is a decent brand, but the DEI Viper and Python lines are much better in terms of install and quality.... I only Buy DEI and love every alarm I've had from them...

i would reccomend the 2W900FM-AS that is what i have and i installed it myself... it works great i love it... i have heard bad things about the 2WSS they say the spread spectrum is not as good. if you get one i have the installer tech manuals and will be glad to assist your install

no problems with any compustar at all...
had the green remote (badass)
had the blue one on another car (bad ___)
then the white one which i have currently no problems at all
few channels extra too. like windows up/down, sunroof, door poppers etc... baggss.. (i don't have all these mods)
but you can use few channels....
the black one i did hear few words about it...
but compustar its good....

whoa! thanks for all the help guys. Still dont know which alarm to get though. Guess the best thing to do is talk to the installer. I currently have a clifford alarm (g4) on the corolla and no problems. i also have some other brand of alarm i think its Astra or something like that installed because i wanted a two way but i dont think DEI made it at that time, plus the stock alarm..hahhaha three alarms

compustar was a nightmare. everything kept breaking on my 2wss-as on my tC. First the "knock here" thing broke about a week after i got it installed. the 2 way pager broke a couple days after installed. I had two 1 way remotes break on me. the siren died on me in a few months also. the alarm would go off, and all i would hear is the relay clicking and the headlights flashing. i ended up biting the buller and getting that alarm ripped out in favor of a DEI that has no problems whatsoever.
