In all likelihood, I would suspect no. There have been rumblings of each year having different head units so to deter theft, and these would not be reverse compatable.

For the DIY install, you can learn how to take apart the front console by clicking here

Search > center console removal (search for all terms) = find what you seek.

More data on 2006 tC can be found here

That doesn't sound right. It would seem like it would cost more to redesign the headunit and harness for each model year and have to keep a backstock of old headunits. I would suspect they can be swapped, but we won't know until a dealer gets one and can try it out.

Sure. It will sound like crap though. Sorry to say but once you actually use an FM modulator in a car you will figure out why you wont use it again. POS

Ok I received my PIE adapter and wil do my own install asap. What are you guys using to pry the silver plastic, which surrounds the HU, off? The pdf calls it a panel clip removal tool.

So how did this PIE connector work for you guys? I'm curious cause I baught a Zen Micro today. I went ahead and got the belkin FM transmitter but it's fuzzy alot. That was somewhat expected. Anyways, I want something with an actual connect to the device. I read about the PIE connector but no one replied about how it worked and if it was good. Any news?

I am still so envious of future 2006 tc owners who will already have the mp3 jack installed!!! Definitely going to find out from a dealer if it's possible to get one of those on my 2005

The PIE adapter is the best thing next to the 06 HU.
Azncapricia,
The dealers charge a lot for the new HU's. The stock one costs over $200 and the iPod is over twice that. Check ebay or the private classifieds here for people who are selling the 06 HUs.

I just got the Creatine Zen Neeon and love it...on the other hand, the Belkin Tunecast II transmitter is the biggest POS I have ever bought in my life. I can't wait to take it back just to get it out of my life forever. Anyway, I still need to hook my mp3 player up to the car so did all of that PIE stuff I just read about work?

Either that, or keep on burning mp3 files. I think Creative Zen offer portable speakers that you can plug into the player, and maybe you can use that for the car? http://www.creative.com/products/pro...&product=11784
