GST will have cruise control available as a port installed option in 2 weeks. Just talked to my rep yesterday. He told me GST has tighter tolerances (like 1.8 in 1000 instances of failure) than southeast (which is like 2.3 in 1000 or something) so they had to finish up issues with the supplier. 2 weeks though and we're supposed to have it here in Houston
Here is a cruise control I am getting for my wifes '95 Nissan 240SX. It may work with the Scion with some additional parts. The one thing I like is that it does not have a control arm. It actually has a keypad type system. So it can be mounted on a panel instead of the column.

does anyone know if that type will work?
I didn't realize it didn't have cruise control until after I bought it. I was bummed until I remembered my last car didn't have it either and I seemed to get around ok. But put me down as another vote for cruise control. I mean come on, an 87 Accord had it!?!?!? That car was a POS!
see ebay#2462872448 or similar.
they are selling the kits that are installed on east coast cars.ie sotheast toyota dist.
I`m going to order one for my box.
It`s a port installed option,not factory.better than nothing though!

Any techy or person knowledgeable about cruise controls want to try to see if the audiovox or orther aftermarket cruise will work on the xB??

It's tons cheaper if it works. $80 vs. $250-$350.

I got mine installed by Hi-Line Auto here in central NY. It was 221 installed after tax. It doesn't look like the one on EBAY though and he asked if the scions had the same ECU as the echo.. so it must be for the echo, and it worked, so ones for the echo might work for the scions too. Hell of a price though, and it works great.
After driving back to orlando, I noticed that cruise control would be nice... The only thing is that I don't like the SET cruise control set up. The "wand" sticks out on the left side of the steering wheel...I want something like the Audiovox.
The dealer here in Western PA is installing cuise for me but at a heft cost of 495 and its aftermarket but hes giving me the one thats built right into the sterring wheel so it should look cool. I'm getting my xb probally tuesday or wensday so i'll tell you all how it looks.

I bought the same cruise module as this and installed it in less than 3 hours taking my time. Everything plugs in perfectly and all of the cables are the exact length and are wrapped nicely so it looks like it is factory. I recommend everyone go with this unit and install it themselves and save the 250.00 dollars the dealers charge for installation. It doesn't get any easier or better than this for adding cruise to your Scion, which is a must!
