Is this something that you will be marketing or is this just a nice gesture? I also see that you chose to allign the tweeter below the midrange in a sort of layed-down fashion, did testing reveal this to have optimum staging and imaging? I am currently in the process of fabricating a set myself for my Boston RC41's but have decided upon a slightly different setup, I have the midrange on bottom and tweeter on top. Thanks. Mark

This is the second set I have made for the xB. The first pair were for completely different set of speakers that had an additional tweeter that mounted up high. It won SQ at every show it attended. These have the same parameters except this project will be using the Bostons.

That Chuck Norris site is awesome!

Cool. My initial testing has revealed that the arrangement I will use sounds quite good, but I think that I could put those Bostons just about anywhere and they'd sound great. I am hoping to get back in to competing myself. I am looking to check out the MECA circuit and have done a USAC show in the past. Thanks for the Chuck Norris love, you will be spared a roundhouse kick Mark

Are you planning on vinyling these or are you going to texture paint them? They look to be smooth enough to just add a finish to. BTW nice job. Mark

We haven't determined what the "mass produced" price will be. These will be texture painted and yes, they completely cover the dead pedal. Buy they DO house a 6.5" speaker and are a completely sealed fiberglass enclosure. I will be posting pics of them in an xB asap.

OK, $475.00 per pair plus shipping. For that price they will be carpeted with black carpet, which looks amazing. Black texture spray will be $525.00 and vinyl will go for $560.00. These can also be painted to glossy to match the exterior for 675.00. This process is done with a PPG base coat / clear coat.
Thanks.

Who are you and WTH are you talking about? I have dealt with Quarter Wave Designs / Elegonics personally. They make great products and have excellent customer service. I have no idea where you find a scam in this thread.

Here's my story in brief.

I saw this thread and went for a set of kicks for my xB in early June, after e-mailing back & forth with James a few times. He told me it would take a few days and I said sure, no problem, I'm in no huge rush. Then nothing. So I e-mail asking what the status is and I'm told the factory kick panels were back-ordered, no problem.

Then another couple of weeks pass and still no word - so I e-mail again and am told that no xB's were available to test-fit because they are at shows - no problem.

I e-mailed again today and this is the simple response I received - TWICE:

"James Krietsch is no longer part of elegonics and has been put in investigation by the Austin Police for imbezzlement."

That's it. No explanation, no offer to help, no name on the e-mail...nothing. I paid $500 to elegonics, not this James dude, and this is what they reply with? That doesn't look like a reputable operation to me.

So I called them and left a message, but don't expect to hear back either given their lack of interest on e-mail. Next step is a PayPal dispute.

I do LOTS of business on eBay and other online sites and never have problems...my lesson is that I should have only given a deposit until I knew the work was being done. I have been scammed once before so now when I see something like this I come out with guns blazing - I'm just trying to get a set of kick panels made and wanted to use a place that specializes in Scion, as they don't sell them up here in Canada.

So take it for what it's worth, scam, bad experience, whatever. I'm really surprised at the lack of response from these guys.

Well I am sorry to hear about your experience. Looks like I am one of the fortunate ones to had gotten a good product and great customer service before the company went to crap.

I tried to open up the elegonics site and there was some BS message stating "Warning! This site has been shut down by the authorities." And then there is some crappy little government seal on the bottom that is too small to read. It appears to be the FBI seal.

Personally, I think the whole thing sounds suspicious. It is more than likely a falling out between James and Frank, or something along those lines. I just hope for whoever sent that emails sake that this isn't the case. They could be looking at a law suit for libel, since the statement about embezzlement was in writing. Not to mention the possibility of criminal charges for impersonating a government (federal) entity.

Either way, it looks like big trouble for someone if what you say is true. I'm just sorry to hear you got caught in the middle of it. I'd be one the phone daily, if not hourly if I were you.
