Default ddx install please help

Ok so i installed the stereo, and everything works fine except for my center console lights. Its in a tC. As soon as i turn my lights on the unit dims but my interior lights for my center console dont turn on, please help me as to what my problem may be. I think the problem may be in the orange dimming wires for the wiring harness. The wiring kit i got for the toyota has a positive dimmer wire and a negative dimmer wire, whereas the harness for the ddx only has one dimmer wire. How am i supposed to hook these up? The positve dimmer the the kenwood dimmer, with the negative dimmer going to a ground or hook all 3 together?

chek the harness to see what out put you get when you turn your lights on; use a volt meter and test to see if you have voltage first. If you have some volage (usu.over 1volt) then its a positive dimmer. otherwise, try cheking for continuity with the same meter. if you get continuity, then it's negative

my question is that the metra harness has two dimmer wires. And the kenwood harness only has one dimmer wire. Should i hook all 3 together or run them a different way. Anyone who installed it in a tc please help

Nevermind I figured it out just took a little bit of thinking on my part. Now the problem that remains is the gaps on the sides, anyone know what to do with them?

Probably have a custom trim ring built. I still need to do that... I tried the toyota pieces that seem to work on xBs but it would have take more modification than it was worth to make them work well on the tC.

Yeah, there are spacers you can buy, but require some modification for the tC space.

I just installed the DDX7015 in my tC this weekend and I used the same trim kit thats on the xB on the link above. Worked great, fits well....just had to redrill the mounting holes so it would sit far enough back so i could shut the door.
