What are some great demo CDs to show off an audio system?

Do you want to show off the system to some high school kids or some audiophiles?

My lazy answer is....

go to soundoff.org and iasca.com to get their competition cds for sound quality, if you can try finding the focal cd....sq music generally should not contain electronic music, you want to hear all the vocals clearly and enjoy listening to the numerous instruments you wouldn't normally pay attention to while casually listening to the radio

for bass you could do one thing, get one of the spl/db cds, these have numerous tracks that generate one note at numerous frequencies, you should mess around with em to find out which note is loudest

then proceed to stick your friend in the car with the cd in, get out of the car and hit "play" with the remote and watch your friend either go deaf or jump out of the car and whoop ur ****

that spl part might not be worth it, so just get some bass heavy rap/techno that sounds good on your system

I've got an old school alpine reference disc from like 1993 or something. all scratched up but plays fine. no good to impress 16yr olds, but pretty jazzy.

Just throw in Dark Side of the Moon, most complex piece of music ever.

WOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I was browsing this thread, and just stoped in awe that someone would recomend listening to the Floyd. They were ahead of their time in the late 60's when they came out and are still to this day. Listen up kids, Max2k is right... get dark side of the moon, Ummagumma, or Meddle... your ears will thank you.
