Default Driver Side Window

Ok, this probably looks bad as my first post, but my driver side window doesnt work.

I have a 05 xA, I tried all those resets, looked in my manual for it, which it is not in, searched, and searched, nothing works.

Yes, it happened after I unhooked the battery, and like I stated before, I tried the resets, also 1 thing about that, I keep seeing and reading about "lights on the window switches", I looked, I must have a bs xA, cause there are no lights on them... am I missing something?

When I try to roll down my window, I can hear the motor trying, but gets no where....

Your input, and advice would be great, and I would be very greatful.

Thanks!

Maybe try a fuse? Try looking in both the fuse boxes. There is one in the engine bay, but it is most likely in the fuse box under the dash. If it is like the xb it is most likely near the hood release lever. Just a guess but it was worth the post. Let me know if it helps

sounds like the window is just stuck. Can't be a fuse if you can hear the motor trying to move the window. Are you sure it is the motor? Does it make a click and thats it or a click and more noise from that door? You could try helping the window down as you push the switch.

I think the only light in the window switch you have is the LED behind "Auto" of the driver side glass button. It is only ON when you have the headlights switched ON.
All the windows share the same fuse and power relay, so if only the driver side doesnt work, it must be the switch or the motor.

Nope, all other windows work, they even work being controlled with the driver controls.

I checked the fuses, but I dont see the one in the engine bay?

and yes Reactor, you're correct, that is the only one, and I figured that one out last night, lol.

And what do you mean by "it must be the switch? and where is the relay for the windows (or do you mean fuse)?

Also, it only "clicks" or I can only hear the motor moving when I try to let it up, never when I try to let it down.

About a week ago it was working fine, then I had to get a new alternator, and now its acting stupid...

I appreciate all your input so far!

There is a relay and a fuse that supply power to the master window switch and to the 3 switches in each door, but if even only one window works that means that relay and fuse are OK.
The best way to diagnose your problem is to print out a wiring diagram and pull the master switch out fron the door panel and check everything with the test light. The wiring diagram is downloadable from the top of this forum section.
