Hello All.. new member new owner.

I wanted to know if anybody can tell me if I gone and did something bad to my car. I had a little charm hanging from my windshield mirror and was putting a solar shield up and I think I knocked a little two inch long metal chain into the vent at the top of the dashboard under the windshield. I don't care about the little chain but I want to know if it will damage anything in the car. I tried to see if I could find it if but can't find it. Any info would be appreciated. I'm hoping I don't have to pay a mechanic to take the dashboard apart.
