DSP Curves for OEM Deck
it is possible to get good(ish) sound from the stock deck
him posting the RTA analysis is a baseline for tuning
what he did (and got hassled for ????) was the same as a DynoChart for our cars
so many variables that make things different....but the bottom line is there and you can tune with a BETTER idea of what you are starting with (signal wise)

incase readers have not noticed the curve changes with volume.
the more you turn the **** it is automaticly change ing the eq, half volume bass treb. set flat, ok now go to max volume you will have less bass. i've even put in cd's with lots of bass and at 3/4 volume the bass control from all theway down to all the way up has no efect this is there to keep you from blowing the cheep factory speakers. any aftermarket amp, sub, mid ,and or tweet. will suffer from this thats why replacing the radio is the best thing you can do for your system. stock sucks

Interesting. Thanks to the OP for the frequency response curves.
To my ears, in my tC, "xB mode" with "hear" sounds the best. But it looks like "xA mode" with "hear" may yeild a flatter response going to the speakers. Will that necessarily make it sound more accurate? Possibly not, because the speakers and cabin will color the sound.

I'm going to get a cleansweep but wanted to know how much the EQ changes to see if I need to use the cleansweep volume control or can just use factory. If it doesn't change that much an audiosound EQL would probably be a better choice for a simple system at almost 1/2 the price.
Even if the EQ was flat, which by all means a perfect ear would enjoy! Our ears arent perfect after the first 6 months of bein outside ur momma your ears start to adjust to Mid frequiencies. So the ideal would be to have an external EQ or a built in one that you could adjust to Form to your EARS. Not ONE persons ears are the same. After putting in multiple systems into kids, adults, elderly persons cars/trucks/suvs/minivans, when they get in and you start tuning it to their ears and their music, a flat level doesnt always appeal to them. So exactly why would you want a Flat EQ?
Im not banging at all like i said some people have different prefrences. I just dont quite understand the point or logic to the post other then its pretty sweet to see what the EQ lvl is already set to. in the SSP levels.
Thanks
Jdiz

If you have an aftermarket amp & subs then You will be fiddling with the tone controls a lot because the added bass by the subs will be less to your preference as you crank up the volume
Back in the day when I was so cool, I blew an obnoxious amount of money on an Eclipse Head, Boston Acoustic Pros, Jl Amps, and JL Subs. I also have a 21 band Fosgate Symmetry and a couple Audio Controls if anyone is familiar. I've spent over $1000 bucks on wires alone just from swapping it from car to car. (I drive @50K a year, so cars seem disposable) This time with my new Scion, I decided to keep it easy. I installed Boston Acoustic Pros in the front and rear, a JL 300x4, wired it all up to the stock deck through Low Output Converters. I am just as content with this setup, as I have been with any of my other setups in the past. I kinda like this one more since it's so simple and clean. My intent is to add the Bazooka Tube to bring it all together. I know this will sound incredible with any kind of bass to complement it. I won't need to install another amp, anymore wires, or any batteries in the trunk. This is the way to go.
So yes, the stock HU can sound great.
I like my frequencies like I like my women ..... with curves
