I've been able to do the "push my button" one but the mag says there are lots more...anyone know anyothers? Does anyone know how to get the display to constantly scroll?

 

what are you talking about? easter egg in the box? think toyota would do that?

 

They did it with the radio already.

I am curious to find out about the scrolling text. Anybody have any input on this?

The Scion Magazine claims there are 'Easter Eggs' in the Scions the way there are 'Easter Eggs' in DVDs. The only one I have seen is the radio text thingy.

Yeah, what's the push my button thing? And if ANYONE knows how to make the text scroll, PLEASE post it. That is one thing I would love to find out how to do.

EASTER EGG: PushMyButton

In video games and DVDs, hidden special features are called
Easer eggs, Every 2005 Scion model comes with some
secret Easer eggs, too. Peep this.

If you press and hold 'A' on the Pioneer stero and turn the
ignition to 'ACC', you will enter the secret mode function,
within 15 seconds, press and hold 'M','A', and '2' simultne-
ously and turn the ignition to 'OFF'. The display will now
show "PushMyButton" instead of the original "Scion." If you
want to return to the original screen reading, "Scion," just
repeat the steps.

theres another post somewhere that shows how to get other messages.... but nothing about scrolling... then again i just realized i never rtfm... maybe its in there?

 

I found that document in the new winter spring 05 mag but it listed more. heres the rest. page 54

"WhatMovesYou"
press and hold 'A' and 'TEXT' simutaneously and turn the key so 'ACC' is off.

"Scion=A+B+C"
from the AM setting, press and hold "FOLDER UP' and 'SCAN' simultaneously and turn the key so 'ACC' is off.

"(scion in japanese)"
insert cd and set to track number 2, press and hold 'Folder Down' and 'Text' simultaneously and turn the key so 'ACC' is off.

Custom Welcome screen
to create your own custom message, press and hold 'M' and turn the key so 'ACC' is off. You now have one minute to use the '+' and '-' buttons to scroll through any ASCII characters. Use the 'A' button to enter your characters.

 

Thanks, My stero now says SirScion. Oh, and if you time out while you are still entering in the letters, you dont have to erase it, just keep going after you start it up again.

 

i can't get any of these to work for me. Does it have to be the 6 disc headunit?

 

Nope, works on my unit and it is not the changer. The Japanese Scion text is cool

 

Works on mine too, obviously, and it is not the six disc either. you have too be holding the buttons when you turn off the key, maybe that is your problem?

 

Yeah i would turn ACC on hold the "M" button and turn the ign off and nothing... What am i doing wrong here?

 

if Toyota made scrolling text a hidden feature, they are idiots. If these cars have been out this long and we haven't discovered how to get the text to scroll yet. We are all idiots.
