Eclipse AVN 2454 Install RCA/Subwoofer Question.
Tried to figure it out in my head then I about had a anurism. Seriously I'm gonna install my AVX 2454 in the next day or 2. MY question is Is there any real benefit to me running the RCA's for the subwoofer? I currently have the amp/sub hooked up via high inputs piggy backed of the rear speakers. I understand I would lose the individual "fader" controls for the sub.
What I'm curious is the sound quality. The Sub sounds HOT now with the stock system. Are the in-car based systems like a home 5.1 where the subwoofer has it's own dedicated channel? If I can get away with not running the RCA's is my goal. Basically if the bass will sound the same either way then I'm good. Thanks

It will sound much much better if you run the rca cables. From my expierence those line level converters do not sound very good. The deck does not send the real low frequencies to the rear speakers because it would blow them. If you run rca cables it will send the correct frequencies to the sub and sound 10 times better. You will also be able to control the bass level and shut the sub on and off from the deck.
