Default factory harness & aftermarket speakers

im new to car audio and have a question for the pros reguarding the factory wiring. Is it ok when installing new speakers to run the speaker wires from the amp and splice into the factory harness on aftermarket radio? if i run the wires straight to the speaker ccrossovers will it make a significant difference? Also does it make a big difference if i ran the rca cables on the passenger side away from the other cables?

are you talking about the remote wire? if you are...dont splice it...juss but connect it...you dont have to solder it but u can and if you do...dont solder it too long and when ur done butt connect it with the proper size then connect it to the deck and check the volt with a VMM make sure its around 8 - 12.667 volts...

yes it MATTERS ALOT to wire the RCA on the seperate side of the battery...the batter is usually located on the passenger side...so run the power(12volt) wire on the same side from the battery side and make sure your not crossing your alternator..it will pick up the engine noise from the alternators field...then run the RCA cables on the driver side....note..the rca and power/ground/remote are on seperate sides for a reason =)...

Run all new wiring from your amp to the crossovers and to the speakers....you'll have less connections so less chance for one of them to be bad.....if you have different size/types of wire mixed together, you'll get an altered signal running through them......
