Default Factory Pioneer Radio.........

HEY! I have a factory Pioneer radio and wondering if it has the Pioneer connection port for other pioneer electronics. What ports does it offer. I want to be able to use my Pioneer stock head unit and use the sat button with all the features through Sirius radio though, not XM. Any info ideas please?

I was at best buy yesterday asking these same questions, they took the hu out and told me that although it is a pioneer, it is built specifically for toyota and does not have the pioneer interfaces. i bought a dumb fm modulator.

Well waht plug does it use for the factory XM in that case, and since there is a xm plug and a SAT button someone has to make a converter/connector that we can use to get direct sirius radio and control it all through the head unit.

soundgate makes an adapter to use sirius on pioneer units also. i think the best thing would just to consider it a toyota unit, all the connectors on it are toyota style

economy! Gas is xpensive, amintance is xpensive, mods are expensive, speeding tickets are expensive, alwayers are xpensive.....

And I ordered the PIE a part today from my PIE rep. It should be here by friday. Also they are not sure it works with the SIRIUS unit (it converts our ehad unit to pioneer pbus) so I will try that and elt everyone know once I have all the parts installed and hopefully working! woohoo!

I thought this was the month when Scion was going to offer a Sirius option. Anyone else know specifics about this?

Default PIE TOY03/PC-PIOX data converter Toyota data port to P-BUS

Well i Purchased the new SIR-PNR1 Sirius Tuner from Pioneer that uses the P-BUS. It works on the same Pioneer head units as the Pioneer GEX-P910XM XM Tuner. And I got the PIE TOY03/PC-PIOX Data converter that converts the Toyota Data Port on our stock Toyota/Pioneer radio to P-BUS data.

This converter is ment for the GEX-P910XM Tuner and or the CDX-P680 6 CD External Changer both of wich sell for the $149 to $180 range.

After talking to Tech support at PIE they said that until they actually get a SIR-PNR1 to test with that they could say if it would work or not, and that they may have to modify the firmware to make it work.

I decided to give it a try and guess what it did not work! A friend had a GEX-P910XM in his car and let me try it so I could make sure the unit worked. The GEX-P910XM worked as advertised.

SO THE PIE DEVICE FOR NOW IS A GREAT WAY TO CUT DOWN THE COST FOR EITHER A EXTERNAL PIONEER CD CHANGER OR THE STOCK PIONEER XM RADIO UNIT.

By the way if you want one of PIE devices I have mine on ebay now and my wife got me a Pioneer Head unit for my birthday from cruthfield.

Ebay item #5757315390

I'm new to this Satellite stuff soooooo...

For my Birthday, I got a Sirius Sportster Car kit. I to am wanting to install it , or connect it to my stock radio. I'm using the wireless FM transmitter, and I hear this creates lower sound quality, and this also creates interferense from other fm stations. What can I get to connect my Sportster to my radio so I can use my sat button

Weel I have my PIE piece on the way and I think I will order the Sirius unit today from my rep. i hope I can somehow get it to work. Victor @ PIE told me to call him after I setup it to tell him what it does so he can see if he can get new software into it or whatnot. I really want Sirius through my factory unit till I get my AVN2454 (and then i will want Sirius in that somehow). ARG! All the crazy toys.
