I take it the last pic was payment for the help?

Nice. I haven't even considered replacing my HU yet. I have a lot of other plans first. But what mounting kit is that? I thought I've read a few times they don't "technically" have any for the tC yet...

No mounting hardware...just use the brackets that are stock off the old radio. just have to redrill holes in the bracket so that the radio is set back and the door can close. and the kit for under the radio, to make it pretty (lol) is called an underradio multi-pocket which we picked up at Autozone for $15.

That's the part I was wondering about.

I would almost rather go for a nice doubledin with a display or something. But for now that'll be money spent on other fun things like suspension and such.

i didn't want that. i would rather spend that money on performance mods and my rims. i got this stuff because i wanted sound that was way better than stock. and just by listening to the radio as it is now, without the subs and amp, it's already WAY better than stock. so i got what i wanted.

Ya, it's amazing what a little more wattage will do. Eventually I'd like to replace the HU and add a single 10" in the trunk. Nothing fancy, just good clean sound.

that's a whole joke...we went to a "show" in pa this weekend and a woman who just painted all of her stock parts red to match her red xA won 2nd place. no mods, just paint.

Noice! I am holding out for the 06. If you replace the HU with another Pioneer with the steering wheel controls still work?

Was it hard getting the dash apart or did it just pull apart fairly easy? When I replace the head unit in my former 2002 Civic Si I found the dash plastic to ver VERY soft and scratched way too easy.

Metra has made a kit that works for the tC. I have a friend that is a sales guy at Tweeter, and he was telling me that the kit just came out within the past month or so. Currently, he didn't have any in stock, but they were not difficult to get a hold of.

I personally didn't like the kit, so we custom installed my Alpine 9835 with Lexan. Below is a link to the final product.

I think the kit runs about $25 or so.

I heard that as well. That's why I asked if she used something specific for the tC.
