repost...i got the metra dash kit and a pioneer indash flip out. when my screen is out it covers the instrument panel, i was wondering if there's a different kit where the storage slot is on top and the din slot is on the bottom( so it doesn't tower over the instrument panel)?

every kit I've seen has the pocket on the bottom. sounds like you would have to take the factory brackets, ISO mount the radio and create a trimplate to cover the opening.
I have a flip out and I hardly leave it open.

 

done...like you said i used the factory brackets and i stripped the metra kit of all unneeded plastic so all that was left was the pocket and the trim. i'll take pix later. look so much better when the screen doesn't tower over the dash
