I bought a cheap DIY security cam from Frys and installed it where the rear wiper used to be. The installation turned out pretty good.
It's currently hooked into my passenger side monitor which both camera and monitor comes on when I start the car.
When I was shopping for a camera, the local car stereo place here was charging me 150-200 for the cam + labor. I bought mine for 39.99 @ Frys Electronics and installed myself.
