I have made a couple dash top pads where were hand cut. Does not look the best. If at least ten xB owner post to this thread that they are interested in the dash top pad, I will get tooling made and make them available for $15 including shipping.

Note that the dash top pad must be sprayed occassionally with Aerospace 303 vinyl protectorant to protect against UV rays.

By sprayed occasionaly, that means WE have to go buy this vinyl protectant and spray it ourselves?

BTW, i went ahead and picked up the set!

Im starting a list for the top dash

Yes, you have to get your own protectorant. But free samples are available.

I ordered Two sets of the pads from Wilson. One for myself and One for my wifes xb.

We received them a couple days after ordering. Thanks Wilson.

I have yet to put them on since both cars are dirty and we dont want dust between the pads and surface but the packaging, labeling and instructions were perfect.

I'll try and get them on this week and give more input on the pads for both cars

Thanks Wilson

These pads made my shelf space useable . The new dash pads Wilson mocked up above would make a largely useless area of the XB handy storage space.
We just need a few more on the list!!

Based upon the feedback in this thread, I ordered a set of the pads. Wow, what a great setup. Wilson has a fantastic packaging system and everything is perfectly cut and labeled. I had no idea I had so many usable spaces.

Someone mentioned the thickness earlier and the picture was deceiving. I don't think they look as thick on the dash. I am happy with the thickness.

I did not use the double sided tape. I am really picky about sticking thing to my dash. I am happy to report that the pads stay in place quite nicely with no tape.

These pads are highly recommended.

Wilson:
Is this a dead issue? I know only four members posted interest but it seems like a great addition. As you know , members here have supported your pads pretty well , maybe you'd reconsider ?
Thanks.

I just emailed him @ pilotpads@msn.com and he promptly replied to it. I'll vouch for Wilson as well. (not just because that too is my name). The pads are great. The labels are all there isn't anyway you can mess this up. He sent it on Monday and I got it via prioirty mail today (Wednesday). Flawless! Best $33 I spent so far on the xB.

Highly Recommended!

Yes , I think most members who have bought his pads have been pleased . I'm asking a little different question:
He suggested a new item ( listed abovre in this thread) , a dash top pad to make probably the largest shelf on the XB a more useful space.
Again, I think this would be a great item and am asking him to reconsider the addition of this new product.
Hopefully he will respond as he has to you.

I'm pretty happy with keepy my top dash without the pads and using the small cubes holes with the pads, but to each their own.

I don't like having things on top of my dash and haven't liked that for the 42 years I've been driving. On occasion I will temporarily set something on to of the dash, but I never leave it there when I'm driving. That's why I didn't put my name on the list.

For Wilson to do other than cut these out by hand, he'd have to have a cutting die made for the pieces, and that costs money. He has to sell a certain number to break even, so that's the reason for the list. If it will cost more than he will make, there is really no good reason for him to make 'em.

Good luck!

Tomas

Just got my pads yesterday. Very prompt shipping and well labeled. If any of you are NOT using these pads I feel much of the usefulness of all the cubbys is being lost. Wonderful product, prompt shipping. The best first mod you should get. Just my .02 cents.

thanks to Wilson for the great product and faster than expected shipping...he also included a piece that I requested for just below the steering column where the keys keep making contact with during driving...it is now quieted by the piece I cut and shaped below the key hole...

Kudos!
