Default Ground Wire kit help

I just got Happies groud wire kit and was wondering if anyone that had it has a picture of what it looks like installed. I am having a problem visualizing where to attatch it to the Surge tank. Thanks for the help. Also for those of you that have installed it, did you have to get a new connector for the negative battery terminal to fasten those wires to?

Try the DIY section on echofans.net. Different car, same engine

What kind of benefit can you get from one of these grounding kits?

Why are you installing this? I have yet to see any proof that this actually provides any kind of benefit. Not trying to be a pessimist, just wanna know the actual factuals. Let us know how your xB reacts to the wires (tell the truth please!).

there have been dyno results that this mod works. now as to how much you can expect from a scion will be minimal, but it will improve overall performance and feel.

Rhobz and Simplified Scion installed the wires I bought from Happies. Those guys do very clean work! Here is a pic of the way they hooked the wires up to the negative terminal with a new connector ($5).

"A ground wire kit provides a direct ground path from the battery negative to the car's engine, chassis and body, greatly improving your car's electrical system. The 99.99% pure copper wires have less impedance than the factory ground system, greatly improving electrical flow throughout the car, and preventing electrical power loss. This kit is especially effective for highly tuned cars, or cars with extensive audio systems in the car which eat up a lot of power. Experience smoother idling, a decrease in stereo noise, better gas mileage, and numerous other benefits. "

Or it could be another selling point and just as worthless as my illuminated cup holders.

Can you post a link to the dyno sheets? I'd actually like to see proof instead of claims. Thanks.

I know what the supposed intent is, but I've never seen one bit of proof to back that up. You can say whatever you want about a product, doesn't mean it's true. Look at the Tornado. LOL

I'm not saying it is a worthless mod, I'd just like to see an example of where it actually made a difference.

Ok SciFire, so tell us what you have noticed that is different from before the install....

i have been thinking about getting some, but i would like to hear your experience with them since you just had them installed....

oh, and are those the smoked color, and do they have plated tips?

thanks!

Assuming that better ground wires won't improve the electrical system is like assuming that better stereo speaker wires won't improve your stereo performance, or that upgrading your spark plug wires won't improve engine performance.

Yanges, I swear it added... like... at least 200 horsepower! J/K. I am no car expert, and God didn't install a dyno on me at birth, heheh. The benefits on my car are most likely minimal. I don't yet have an aftermarket stereo system installed, but I read that it also prevents things like static or interference from the electrical system to the stereo and to the engine's computer.

Yes those are the smoked ones. They look really clean. I don't remember if they are plated or not.

Here is an even BETTER explanation than the previous ones cited, and the link to the dyno test you all were requesting:

Oh and check out the XB on the cover!

I never noticed anything like that before, Yanges. I will check it out tomorrow night and report back.

oops! i meant it drops 50rpm's or so, not 500...

when warming up my xB, it idles around 1100-1200rpm to start with and slowly drops as it warms up....if i turn the headlights on while it is around 1100rpm or so, the rpm's drop ~50-100rpm or so when first switching on the headlights....
