Default Ground wire kit installation help

Bought one of those ground wire kits--a TRD kit--and the instructions are pretty much useless. I called the company I bought it from, but they were no use at all.

Anyone have pics (or detailed instructions) of how to install this? Or know where I can find them on line?

Seems like it should be easy, but I can't even figure to where to start with these instructions. And I electricity is not the kind of thing I wanna mess up.

Thanks.

alot of the kits are universal (not mine though :D ). What you want to do is ground the chassis, engine, trans, etc together. You really wont screw anything up as long as you dont attach anything together that shoudnt be grounded (such as the + battery post).

Thanks guys. I put it in today. Guess it works. Nothing blew up anyway. Should have benn easier to install than the cold air intake, but with crappy instructions, it wasn't. I don't like guessing.

Randode, I came across yours (and this site) when I was searchng for info on how to install the thing. One nice thing about yours (besides instructions) is the color choices. Wires are heavier, too. But it was too late.

Thanks again.

That's the thing. . .I have no clue. So far, it's hard to tell. So I wonder, did I do something wrong during installation (bolt one or two wires to the wrong thing) or is the change just so minimal and/or so limited to certain situations that I can't tell.

I'm looking for any power boost I can get with this car. I've added a cold intake and muffler and even with those, other than a much better sound, I only notice minimal differences.

I figured the $65 was worth the risk even if all it did was add some color under the hood. I suppose it may have done something. I do kinda wish I had seen Randode's kit before I bought this one, if only for the better (i.e. confidence-inspiring) instructions. Besides, I just dropped $60 for bB badges and those aren't going to do a thing for performance.

I don't know about it being worth 65 bucks...but my 5 dollars was well worth it. I bought 15' of 10 (8?) gauge wire, and 10 eyelets. Measured and crimped them, then installed. I noticed that my idle was about 300rpms lower than before. Also, throttle response was a bit better...

Yeah, I thought about that, too, after I opened the box and saw just what made up the kit. It's pretty basic really. I suppose there may be differences in wire quality though.

I need to drive it more, but I think I noticed a similar response in the throttle. I'll be keeping an eye on rpm and gas mileage. Never noticed any power drops w/AC on or dim lights before or other problems the kit was supposed to solve.

It's better to drive your car stock for a month or so...then install mods. You'll notice the difference better...

Where did you purchase the wire from? I assume it has plastic insulation like the kits?

It's a kit and has the TDR logo on it. Box is from Japan. Is good quality. Got it off eBay. It was the only one I had seen other than the $299 JDM version in the Scion Life store, and a few others on eBay. I think the seller was Queen Racing.

Was out and about tonight for the first time since putting them in and rpms are definitley lower. At idle, I'd say 300ish, too. Car is super smooth and almost silent when sitting at a light.

or...if u want better acceleration and lower idle, you could also go with a apexi SAFC, althought costly, but i saw my first xb today with it and it was nice being able to tune the fuel at diff rpm's.

I was more curious where the guy who made his own for ~$5 got the wire (mikochu), but good to know. It sound like everyone is experiencing lower idle RPMs if nothing else. If this really can be done for 5 bucks, I'd say it's a swinging deal.

goto any stereo shop and ask them for the wire. sometimes they have a "scrap bucket" with small left over bits after doing amp installs, you might get the wire you need for free!

Do a search on ebay for "streetwires"
There is a guy selling 4 gauge for 0.40 foot. That is what I used for mine.

There appear to be a number of kits in the $30-$50 range that include the round plate for attaching all of your wires. Anyone know where we can get the round plate by itself?

I was planning on buying wire from this site. They also have the connectors for 0 and 4 gauge wire. They have some neat battery terminals. I'm probably gonna get the audiopipe one with one 0 gauge and 2 4 gauge inputs. You can find the eyelets and stuff here too.

If anyone knows of a site with cheaper prices for stinger wire please post a link, thx
