What does that grounding kit do? Besides Im guessing the obvious of better grounds? What would that improve? Any info would be great.

 

i noticed a smoother idle. some have said better acceleration and gas mileage, but i havent noticed.

 

I noticed a lower idle rpm. I also noticed better throttle response (doesn't bog as much). Some say their headlights are brighter...but I really haven't noticed. It's worth a DIY... (search for "Weekend of mods" for my post).

 

I notice better sound quality from my stereo.

 

I noticed I saved 15% on my insurance by switching to geico.

Does anyone have any experience w/ the Ground Kits that work in conjunction with Voltage Stabilizer? Sun Automobile makes one, that retails for $188 and sells for about $160-170 online and I know a few SL members have it installed.

Yesterday, we started carrying the Pivot Raizin voltage stabilizer ($79) that looks very similar the the Sun system, I have no idea how it actually works yet. I will be installing it later this week on my xB and I'll let you know how it works & post some pics.

i have pivot's raizin voltage stabilizer in my xa and the hyper ground system as far as electical mods. the voltage stabilizer makes a HUGE difference. upon installation of the raizin, the engine is more quiet and the rpm is more stable. the overall feeling of driving the car is much better!

i bought the unit for $580HK, which converts to about $75USD. well worth the money.

 

I saw this japanese site where the guy made his own stablizer with about 10 resistors (no clue what ohm)... Might pick up one of these pivots later down the line, though...

 

How hard is the install for these ground wires?

 

Not hard at all, just connect certain points on your car to the chassis, and then to the ground connector of the battery. Nothing more than simply unbolting a nut, slipping the ground wire in, and tightening back down.

 

Lower RPM idle? I thought ours idle at stock around 600RPM? I think that pretty low enough. What's everyone's idle after the GW kit installs?

 

If I can remember correctly, my xA would idle at 900-1000 rpm...

 

Does anyone have pics they can post of their ground kit hookup? I'm interested in getting a kit and where is a good place to get one? Inputs would be appreciated.

That Pivot Raizin with the matching grounding kit is my next mod after I get my Greddy Airinx intake. I can't wait. Even if the benefits are minimal, it will add some nice bling under my hood.
