Default Has anyone else had problems with their ipod?

I've had my ipod for a year and a half and it's never had a problem. Got my scion xa a month ago, with upgraded ipod stereo hookup. After a couple of weeks my ipod started skipping songs, but only in the car, not on its own. Then it stopped working altogether. I went to the apple store and they said my hard drive is corrupted, so it's irreparable and I've lost all 3,500 songs! Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be that the stereo caused the problem? Thank you!

I had issues with a 3G iPod and factory iPod HU.

Sometimes it would search for a song...forever. I would have to disconnect the cable and reconnect to clear it up. Sometimes just restarting the car cleared it out.

I have a 4G/photo iPod in there now, no issues at all. I have not tried my 5G video pod yet, but would venture to say that its firmware is probably OK.

Sounds like your HD was ready to die and maybe the shock and vibrations of being in a car tossed it over the edge?? Do an eBay HD and replace it.

I have my iPod Mini hooked up to my Scion. I've only had it 2 weeks and I have noticed the song skipping. It will play the proper playlist, but sometimes the songs are totally out of order. I have checked and double checked to make sure that the random play is not set.
The problem resolves if I unplug the iPod and plug it back in.

Yeah, mini is earlier firmware also.

The 4G with grey scroll wheel, Photo and Video seem to be OK.
